My Students
My third grade class is made up of a diverse population of young learners. I have ten boys and six girls who are are eager to learn and grow both academically and socially. We are located in a rural, farming community. They are loved at home, at school and by all the community.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
I am proud to say, regardless of their ability, my students are enthusiastically working towards their daily goals. All of my students adore reading - begging to read more and more each day. As their foundational reading skills are strengthened, their ability to dive deeper into more challenging math problems has improved.
In the third grade, my students will be required to take local and state tests. Through all of these assessments, my students maintain a positive spirit and strive to be their best each day.
My Project
This year, my class has been participating in Classroom Book a Day. We begin each day with a read aloud. My goal is to provide a book a day that makes a lasting impact on my students. Part of the purpose of Classroom Book a Day is to build our classroom community, to build student individual identity, and empathy through a variety of diverse books.
These picture books will continue to build our classroom library and will help us to learn that every student is important and together we create a wonderful community of learners.
In addition to building the community within our classroom, Classroom Book A Day will also give my students the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of literature, fostering a love of reading while building essential reading skills.
