My Project
Alzheimer's is such a crippling disease! It is so sad to see an individual lose so many of their memories and their current touch with reality. Some of my students have relatives who deal with this disease on a daily basis. Their tender hearts share such sad stories with me!
My students would like to provide a special moment of excitement for the residents at a local Memory Cottage by providing Easter baskets created just for them!
My students will fill the baskets with candy and hygiene products. We hope that providing an Easter basket for the residents will remind them of a time as a child that they received a basket at Easter or when they may have made one for their child. It is our hope to stir good memories for them and provide them with a special treat.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for my students to serve others and promote awareness of the disease. They will be eager to share details our project with their family and friends. Awareness of the disease will be increased through the completion of our project.
