My students need iPads to help realize their full potential. It will keep their interest and help inspire them to stay engaged during speech therapy sessions.
I'm a speech therapist at a Title I elementary school in NYC. We are trying desperately to pull our school into the 21st century. Right now we only have a few old and outdated tablets, that make better door stops then computing devices, we can't even complete assignments before they crash.
The students I work with receive multiple special educational services.
Despite the many challenges my students face in school and at home, they genuinely want to learn. They also have a burning passion for technology.
My Project
In the modern world, technology is an essential element of all our lives. My students are at a disadvantage because they struggle to express themselves.
iPads can open the door to self expression.
With your support, we will be able to bring resources such as Story Grammar Markers, Mayer Johnson Pictures, Story Builder, Articulate Scenes, iBooks Author and Pictello to my speech students.
Our students love technology, and they are all apple fan boys and girls. Having new modern iPads will be a strong incentive to persevere through their individual challenges and succeed in areas that they have been struggling with for years.
