My 11th grade students need you to believe that they are worth it. This request is both basic and simple - a scale to help us do experiments. However, your help in making this item available for their use sends a strong message. Too often, they see others receive support and resources while they struggle at home and at school just to get by.
In these economic times, our school is making difficult decisions. In science, this means that only students in the advanced placement and honors level classes will be adequately supplied. My students, who often struggle academically, are craving meaningful learning opportunities, but are left with only books and lectures.
What better way to make a difference this year than to inspire my students with fun and relevant labs that can only be possible with simple tools like a precision balance.
Without your help, my students are destined to be left behind - and for us, this means a real risk that they will drop out.
