This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Inquisitive minds, warm hearts, helpful hands, and sponges for brains-these are just some of the ways you could describe the students that walk through our classroom doors each day.

Our students, with limited English skills, live in a high-poverty, big-city community where the goal is to help them blossom into productive learners and speakers.

Their willingness to work hard and achieve is evident in all that they do. They may come from homes where paying the rent and buying food is the priority. Therefore, it is so important for us to support them in as many ways as we can to give them every chance to succeed.

My Project

Your support in providing the classic black and white notebook to all our students will be the first step forward in their becoming better readers, writers, and mathematicians.

The current economic status of all our students in their poverty stricken neighborhood does not allow their parents to buy them such a basic school supply.

More than any other time, food and shelter have to take precedence over any other need. By giving them composition books they will have no problem solving math equations or writing about their recycling efforts or how the character in a book taught them a valuable lesson.
