This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I believe kindergarten is where it all begins! It is one of the most memorable times in a child's life. As a teacher I feel the importance to prepare our students for the 21st century by teaching them how to access technology at an early age.
I teach a diverse group of kindergarten students who are excited to learn Spanish and English in a Dual Language classroom.
Our school is a Title 1 school where many students do not have access to computers at home. Providing them the use of computers at school would give them many more opportunities to expand their learning.
My Project
I see their excitement and eagerness to learn through a computer. Having this computer will allow me to access many of the extra resources that our newly adopted Reading program and Math program both offer. It will also allow time for my students to independently work on skills that address their individual needs.
As Robert Fulghum once stated, "Everything I know I learned in kindergarten".
I believe if we provide a strong foundation with many opportunities to use the computer they will be better prepared to face a competitive and challenging world of technology.
