This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school everyday excited to learn! They are inquisitive about the world around them. We strive to broaden their horizons and challenge their minds. We face many obstacles in our ICT classroom, from lack of classroom resources to wishing for those extra materials, that would take us to the next level in our educational journey, but we come together as a caring and responsible community, always mindful to respect each other.
We celebrate our differences while we learn and grow together.
My Project
Letters, Words, and Sentences, Oh My! A die-cut machine is a fantastic addition to any classroom! This die-cut machine is safe, simple and incredibly easy to use. It easily cuts through everything from card stock and felt to poster board. These die-cuts are useful for so many different activities. For example, if I were to cut letters, my students would be able to write their name, learn their letters, make characters from the letters, etc. This would be extremely beneficial for my special education students who are more hands-on learners. These students are in fifth grade and still struggle with decoding and encoding words due to their disabilities. This machine will allow the students to practice making words in a creative and concrete way. I would love to be able to produce board game pieces that my students can use to create original board games across the curriculum to learn and challenge each other in a dynamic fast paced fun way. We will create posters utilizing shapes and colors to integrate with math curriculum or ELA, from something as simple as a colorful and whimsical Word Wall to something more complex as students monthly projects and presentations. There are endless possibilities and activities that can be carried out if we had access to a die-cut machine! Die cut machines are simply awesome to have in any classroom!
