Curiosity and resilience are our creed. We are the CCMES 1st Grade STEAMTeam. We may be young, but we can do truly amazing things! Our program is fairly new, but this won’t stop us from finding a way to follow the lead of our students in an attempt to establish a place where kids can imagine, create, and hone their ideas.
We are so very fortunate to have the support of our community; however, as a Title 1 school, we aren't pucuniarily strong.
Therefore, we're coming to you to ask for a little help in achieving our dreams. As part of our consistent dialog, we have learned that our students are most interested in STEAM challenges and simple electronics projects. As such, we are in need of a few supplies to keep our STEAM dreams alive. We would love your help! Thanks for considering our future scientists!
My Project
My firsties are a brilliant amalgamation of scientists and engineers. Asking why or how is their specialty.
With your help, I hope to offer them a why not when it comes to figuring out the world around them.
Currently, I have a young boy creating a motorized bike out of straws, bottle caps, and a simple circuit. Another small group of firsties is trying to figure out how to power their houseboat with a motor. Your generous donations can help these littles generate 3D designs to help them solve real world problems. Perhaps they could design and 3D print blades for their houseboat motor or a tool to keep their earphone cords from becoming entangled. These are just a couple of ideas we could engage with while building 21st Century Skills.
