90s/2000s Throwback Dance Candy Table

Help me give my students an awesome 90s/2000's Throwback Dance! I want to create a candy table full of our favorite throwback and old school candy!

My Project

Our school is a Title I school in New Jersey. The school serves students in grades Pre-K through 8th. There is a strong emphasis on academics here, which as we know, is important.

As of recently, we have been working to bring the students extracurricular programming, with the same intensity as we do academics, that is not only fun and engaging, but seeks to offer social activities for those in grades that don't often receive them.

The 90's/2000s Throwback Dance will occur in two parts: the first half will be for grades 3 through 5, and the second half will be for our middle school students. For the students in grades 3 through 5 especially, they do not often get to have dances of their own. I want to ensure that the first dance many of them attend is a memorable one!

The items that I am requesting will go towards the creation of a candy bar. The candy bar will be full of the students' favorite "throwback" candies. Students will be allowed to create a take home bag from the candy bar at the conclusion of the dance. It is my hope that this dance will be the first of many more fun and extracurricular activities for our students, regardless of grade level. I think the candy table will make this dance a popular one among the students and encourage them to not only participate in future dances, but encourage them to advocate on their behalf for similar activities and experiences in the future.
