My Project
Imagine a classroom where 8th graders are solving a crime—analyzing blood samples, dusting for fingerprints, and using DNA to identify suspects. That’s the kind of hands-on, real-world learning your donation will make possible. This forensics unit aligns with NGSS genetics standards and gives students a chance to experience science the way real forensic scientists do. With blood typing kits, fingerprinting tools, and DNA models, students will explore how traits are inherited, how mutations occur, and how genetic evidence can solve a mystery.
This unit not only brings science to life but also connects with the work students are doing in ELA and Social Studies, encouraging them to think critically and communicate their findings.
Many of my students have never used professional lab tools. Your support ensures they’ll have access to meaningful, memorable learning experiences that can spark interest in STEM careers. From building evidence boards to presenting a final courtroom case, students will be fully engaged in learning that matters.
