Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class is an inclusion class, which means I have high and average achieving students mixed with students that have learning, vision and hearing disabilities and even autism. Even though technology has been a blessing, my students will be working hands on, with collaborative groups to tackle their every day math lessons and practice.
My students create interactive notebooks yearly to compile their notes as they learn new things.
They use pencils, glue, and markers each lesson as they learn new concepts and then I teach them how to review and highlight those notebooks as a reference when working through new problems. There are also personal whiteboards at each table for students to work through new problems as they practice and take tests, which is why markers and whiteboard erasers are essential in their learning.
My request for the printer is to help with the changing needs of my students. When technology fails, I have to get students paper copies quickly or when things don't go as planned another activity can be at my finger tips. Less wasted time means I can teach more and my students can learn more!
