Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Team determination students will be working on developing their personal identities as learners through collaborative, engaging 21st century projects throughout the year. In our social studies class, we will study Micro Economics and Macro Economics and Immigration. Students design products, complete in a "Shark Tank" setting, and, after studying culture, learn to market their products in other countries.

We are a 63% low income school.

One fourth of our students learn English as a second language. Students going on to college from our school are most often first generation. Our school motto is, “Do Well, Do good, Lead”. Our students strive to become leaders of the next generation.

My Project

We use 21st century, project based collaborative learning projects often to keep students actively engaged. While studying global economics and pre-algebra problem solving in my room, this project will allow students to enjoy flexible learning spaces that can help them emerge themselves in a creative learning process and be inspired to get work done.

Why not put them in the mood to be innovative leaders of tomorrow by providing them with an environment suitable to higher level thinking?

Research has shown classroom physical environment affects morale and student learning. Middle school students are obsessed with being treated like adults. An environment for learning that feels more like a coffee shop inspires them showcase their maturity.

Thank you for considering to help our project. My students and I are grateful for any support!
