My Project
My 7th graders are curious, creative, and full of big ideas. They’ve been learning about planetary science in science class, designing a system of government in history class, calculating supplies in math class, and writing narratives about what it would take to survive on another world in English class. Now, they’re taking on a challenge: to design and build 3D models of civilizations that could one day exist on Mars!
This hands-on group project combines STEM and art as students work in teams to create physical models of Martian colonies, thinking through real-world challenges like sustainable energy, water sourcing, oxygen production, and how humans will live and thrive in an entirely new environment.
A variety of craft supplies help bring these visions to life, we need your help! These model civilizations will be on display for families, community members to see at Spring Expo!
