My Students

My 7th grade scientists are planning a FEED USA Gardening Project.

I teach 7th grade science to a diverse group of urban high needs students.

We have a plant mobile and seeds but we need potting soil and pots in order to make our project a success. Our project involves studying the scientific method using seed sprouting. We also plan to grow tomato plants from seed. The students will eventually take the tomato plants home to create a small garden or patio container to grow their own tomatoes at home.

My Project

Please help my 7th grade scientists to be successful gardeners. For many of my students this will be the first time they are exposed to seed planting and gardening. Hands on projects like this encourage learning. This introduction to gardening can be the start of a life time interest for my students.

Your donation to this FEED USA Gardening Project will make a difference in the lives and learning of my students.

Your help will allow over 100 7th grade students the ability to study topics such as seed sprouting and growth, cells, photosynthesis, vegetables and their importance in nutrition, etc. In addition, students will have a product that they can share with their families.
