7 Soccer Balls for Middle Schoolers to Use During PE!

My Students

My students include 7th and 8th graders whose families have chosen to attend a charter school focusing on Arts and Personalized Learning. They come from all around the southern areas of San Diego County.

I love knowing that I'm building the next generation of artists, performers, and thinkers.

I want to be able to provide them each with the environment and resources that they need to grow and thrive.

There's so many students that can be truly engaged in their learning thanks to arts integration. Some of my students are wonderfully talented at a fine art, dance, or music, and some of them are just beginning to cultivate an interest. My goal is to help each of them reach their fullest potential through constantly integrating art into their learning.

I teach History, but I am also the supervisor for our "Board Games & RPG Club" as well as "Student Council." Moreover, I teach the Comics and Board Games design elective classes.

My Project

We have a large field at our school where students spend PE. We provided a variety of sports equipment at the beginning of the year, but since then we've lost or damaged items until there aren't many left. Students are not allowed to bring their own sports equipment, so over time, there are just fewer options for the students to use during PE.

The teachers at my school have personally purchased several soccer balls for the kids to use over the last couple of years, but I figured it would be a simple and direct way for a community member to contribute to our school.

Kids really brighten up when there are enough soccer balls for each of the groups to use. The importance of Physical Education can't be overstated enough for Americans these days. I hope that these soccer balls help create lifelong 'exercisers' among my students. I'm simply a History teacher, but I understand the positive effects that more PE supplies will have for my students. I'm asking for 7 soccer balls in this project.
