My Students

As sixth-grade scientists, we will study how to measure different factors effecting our weather. In our classroom, we believe that we learn through hands-on, science experiences.

Our classroom is an environment where students are excited to learn, and are curious about their world.

Students are given opportunities to learn new material by building on their prior knowledge, and by finding out new information, in a way that fits their learning styles. Our school is a place where every child is valued, and given multiple opportunities to grow.

My Project

Our classroom plans to use the weather station when collecting data, to determine and predict weather patterns. As sixth-grade scientists, we are expected to be familiar with different weather instruments. We plan to graph our results, and compare them with other communities in our world.

Science should be real.

I want to make sure the students have an opportunity to use the weather instruments, rather than just learn about their purpose. The goal is to help students to critically think about the data that is collected, in order to predict and make inferences about future weather patterns.
