My Students

My students are amazing, hard working, talented children from every single neighborhood of Chicago. The vast majority of them come from poverty stricken backgrounds and typically do not have the funds necessary to purchase most or any of their own school supplies. Over the last few years, our test scores have risen and middle school specifically has done incredibly well on standardized testing.

My team and I believe that the student success we've seen over the last few years is simply because of the hard work that our students put into their learning.

Our middle school students genuinely want to do well, have been accepted into some of the city's best high schools.

My Project

The items in this project will help my students start the year off on the right note. By providing them with supplies such as wipes, notebooks, and other similar items, you'll be insuring that they are fully stocked to see all of their teachers during the day.

In my class specifically, I will be using the notebooks to help students journal and create inquiry based learning projects that they'll then use the posters to display what they've learned.

In the past, I've purchased my own posters and supplies, and the students loved doing this type of learning. Now though, inquiry based learning has been such a success that I can no longer fund my own classroom. Your donation will help me provide 21st century learning and teaching to my students.
