This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 6th-grade cohort is composed of general education learners and exceptional learners (otherwise known as students with IEPs) who are either new to our school or have been with us for quite some time (some since PreK). While I have been in education for 9 years, I took over as the 6th-grade science teacher recently due to some staffing changes.
My hope is that I can create a safe space for our kids that promotes inquiry, collaboration, exploration, and most importantly, MISTAKES.
It is my belief that only through mistakes does learning happen
Over the summer, the 6th grade Science classroom was completely gutted and repainted. As a result, we lost tons of classroom supplies, books, and all of our science materials. We are trying to rebuild our Explorers Club so we would appreciate any support!
