My Project
My students are new to the country and are learning English. They are all beginning readers and are thirsty for learning. Our classroom has a leveled library that was given to us by our district. Students choose a book based upon their level during independent reading time and also one-on-one reading time with me. Reading books at their level increases their fluency and helps them pass to the next level.
We need to provide more choices of books at their level to keep their interest level high.
Most of my students are at level A. We currently have 36 titles in level A for them to choose from. I need to ensure that they have an expansive selection of fiction and non-fiction books at their level.
