My Students

Our school serves students from transitional kindergarten through 5th grade. The student body includes about 450 students altogether. The student body is widely diverse and 55% of students come from low-income families. Our school is a Title l school.

My fifth grade class includes 27 fabulous learners.

Our classroom setting includes students with different interests, experiences, learning styles and needs.

We strive to create a comfortable school environment in which students look forward to coming each day to develop their academic and social skills.

My Project

Students need to be able to organize a daily schedule and make long-term goals in order to improve their executive function. The planner will be used by students to teach time management and planning skills. They will be able to keep track of class projects, field trips, and school events. These planners will help to support the social emotional programs that we already have in place at our school.

Planning can change the course of a student's academic trajectory and empower children to take control of their lives!

As a fifth grade teacher, my job is to make sure my students are organized and ready for the challenges and shift in environment from elementary to middle school. Incorporating agendas help students develop planning and organizational skills.
