Help! After teaching kindergarten for the past 14 years at the same location, I was told that I had to move schools due to declining enrollment. So, I am now teaching 5th grade at a new school and I instantly realized that I am in desperate need of a classroom library.
I will be teaching 35 eager fifth grade students.
Some come from low income households and are learning English as a second language. This year, not only will my students be walking into an unfamiliar classroom, but I will as well. It will be an amazing learning experience that I can't wait to share with my students.
My Project
It has always been a goal of mine to provide my students with many opportunities to read. With this project, I am requesting novels, fantasy stories, and more. The grade level appropriate books will satisfy the needs of advanced readers and target grade specific standards. These books will provide a variety of literary genres, help develop comprehension skills, encourage analyzing text and drawing conclusions, and create many writing opportunities.
As a fifth grade teacher it is my goal to do all I can to provide my students with many opportunities to interact with interesting books.
The love of reading comes from having access to the books. By helping me build my classroom library, your generous donation will create an inviting, interesting, and engaging reading experience for my students.
