My Project
This year I am striving to bring back an extracurricular activity that I enjoyed growing up and still in enjoy to this day, book club. This club will have multiple uses but it will primarily take place in our after school program to increase interest in reading and provide an additional opportunity for students to practice the reading strategies they learn during the school day.
This library will be compromised of books with stories and authors who match the student demographic. This provides a wonderful opportunity for students to develop a deeper connection to the texts they read.
This library will also be apart of an area in my classroom dedicated to social-emotional learning where students practice understanding and managing their emotions.
