Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students have worked hard all year and we would love to be able to celebrate each one with fun activities and motivational items for them to keep. We do not have a school committee to help our team raise funds, so we are kindly asking for the larger community to help us purchase items to celebrate our SUPERSTAR students as we wrap up the school year!

Your gift will help us meaningfully celebrate a total of three 5th grade classes this year!

Items include pens and bracelets with motivational messages, small notebooks for students to record autographs and best wishes messages in, and a decoration banner for our hallway and graduation ceremony. Items for hands-on activities include make-your-own pinwheel (students are very creative and have LOVED this in the past). The pinwheel activity also allows us to think about wind energy and discuss science vocabulary as students walk around with their spinning pinwheels.

Additionally, we're including STEM anchor charts to help us prepare for next year's classroom setup. Fifth grade students have just finished testing for Maryland state exams in Science, Reading AND Math. These anchor charts have been on our wish list and we believe they will be helpful tools for next year!
