My Students

Attending a Title I school, my students face challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Our fifth grade class is looking to provide materials for this group of wonderful and diverse learners.

Our students have a wide variety of needs, these materials will help us meet the individual needs of each and every student.

We are a project based learning school which allows students to take an active approach to their learning. It is a challenge to provide all the materials the classes need to complete the projects to their best ability.

We have many projects planned for this school year and your donation will be greatly appreciated. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of many deserving children. Thank you in advance.

My Project

My students engage in project based learning throughout the year. This way of teaching gives students an engaging way to learn and they enjoy it! It also requires a lot of materials that is hard to provide without the help of DonorsChoose.

Your donation will go directly to providing my students what they need to succeed.

They need various types of paper depending on their project and presentation. Poster board is a popular choice for students when creating a presentation. It also allows them to use their creativity to display their learning. The construction paper is used for student projects as well. Cardstock is used for Plickers (an online program that collects student responses using a QR code and a cell phone app) as well as when my student build rockets later in the year. The Astrobright colored paper is used to color code subjects and to make sure important information is seen at home. For each of our Magnet Units, students create and exhibit of their work throughout the hallway. The black bulletin board paper, packing tape and packing tape dispenser will allow student work to be displayed in the hallway to share with other classes.

Some other items are necessities to build an organized classroom environment. The bins will be used to collect papers and the clothespins will be used to easily see students who have not handed in paper. Pushpins are needed to hang up bulletin boards and important notices.
