My Project

My students are excited about joining in with the Battle of the Books, but I do not have many copies of the books in my classroom library. My students will be able to read Battle books to prepare for the upcoming competition this Spring. Adding these books to our classroom library will excite kids to read more during independent reading time! My classroom library is currently a host of donated books from different coworkers and previous classrooms. My students would love to get some fresh new books onto our shelves! We will also be using some of these sets of books for small groups to read together interactively, as I work to bring up students' comprehension, fluency, and phonics skills.

The math manipulatives will help students gain richer and more meaningful understandings of math concepts this school year.

Students need to be able to interact with manipulatives to deepen conceptual understandings. While our curriculum does a great job of introducing concepts, students have shown greater success by being able to fully visualize the concepts when manipulating hands-on materials.
