This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds and cultural differences. They are the future mathematicians who are extremely motivated. They all love and have deep passion for math in one way or another. My students are very vocal and take their education seriously and constantly strive to succeed in all they do. They cooperate and collaborate as well as encourage each other to do better in class.
My students are so special because they are all great thinkers and creative inventors who take their school work seriously but also know how to enjoy the academics at the same time.
Having the need to be great thinkers and creative inventors, I believe they need to have the proper support and technology that can help them take their imagination to reality.
My Project
Currently, I am using a district-provided laptop that freezes often and takes longer than normal to load during my lessons. It is counterproductive to distance learning because the software I use takes more resources than the computer is equipped with. Out of an abundance of caution, I would like to take a preventative approach to protecting the computer from any ransomware by moving to an Apple operating system. If my Windows computer becomes infected with ransomware, it would be a catastrophic risk. By having an Apple, I will significantly reduce downtime as a result of ransomware crippling my Windows laptop.
