My Students

Have you ever tried to learn something, but didn't have the tools to proceed. Well, that is the challenge facing my students with the new Common Core Curriculum in Reading/Language Arts. They never complain, only strive to be better.

My students are in the 4th grade.

They are very studious and eager to accomplish any task set before them. They come from many different backgrounds. My kids want to be successful and realize that in order to get the best grades they must work hard. We are an inner city school and teach Core Knowledge. We work very diligently to help our students to become well-rounded ladies and gentlemen in their education.

My Project

I am requesting several different books to help inform my students about water conservation. I want them to become responsible for their part in help to conserve water in their environment. We will read "Our World of Water" - so students are informed about the differences in water across our great globe. I want them to see how difficult it is for other children to have clean drinking water across other countries. We will write letters to family and friends about how it is important for each person to be responsible in conserving water and include some tips for using water in their daily lives.

I want to make a difference in each of my student's lives.

In order to accomplish the Common Core Curriculum in ELA, I must have the materials necessary in order to do my job effectively and efficiently. I want my students to have the "I can do" attitude to make a difference in the world. Sometimes, it takes just one idea or one person to ignite a passion in order to help save the world.
