My Students
Students are navigating a brand new world of learning online while the world is affected by a global pandemic. The school experience is temporarily altered and all students are learning in new ways. Many of my students will have school laptops checked out to them for online support, classes, and activities.
Students are learning how important it is to stay academically active, even while staying safe at home.
Students and teachers are learning via chats, online lessons, and messaging to engage with each other and the classroom.
My Project
The pandemic has affected how students learn and I want students to have the at-home tools they need to feel confident in learning while school is closed temporarily. This project will help students prepare for the return to school by learning essential skills in reading and math such as multiplication facts and division facts! Students will have a 4th-grade tool kit that they can use to help them jumpstart their learning adventures while connecting with their teacher online.
In each toolkit, students will have two reusable kid-sized face masks to keep them safe wherever they may go (and also back to school when it opens), as well as the supplies they need to be successful for focused at-home studies including notebooks, pencils, erasers, a calculator, multiplication cards, pens, division cards, and the excellent chapter book "Holes" ready for our classroom meeting/literature discussions.
These school supply kits will be just what each of my 4th graders will need to stay engaged in class discussions, be prepared by practicing essential 4th-grade math skills, have a great book to read with their class online, and to be ready with two reusable masks for when their school can safely re-open. Successful learning adventures await!
