My classroom is located in rural, small-town school in Indiana. The school is full of students from various backgrounds, and approximately 60% of them receive free or reduced-price lunches. If you walked into my classroom, you would see a large group of energetic and creative students! Although they come from various backgrounds, they all love to learn while working in small groups and with hands-on lessons.
My students need to be using their hands to help them learn important Science concepts in my classroom!
My 4th grade students will take the ILEARN in the spring, and Science is one of the tested subjects. I do not have a Science curriculum to use in my classroom to help my students learn the important concepts, that are not only tested on the ILEARN, but are also crucial to know and understand for real-life experiences. If my project is funded, I will be able to use the funds to purchase a Science curriculum on Teachers Pay Teachers. The curriculum I have found is directly aligned to Indiana State Standards, and it is full of interactive labs that are engaging for students. The Science curriculum will help my students develop a better understanding of the Science standards that 4th grade students are expected to learn.
