Help me give my students access to digital magazines to grow their reading skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Smart's classroom raised $416

My Students
My students are a diverse group of kids from the East NY section of Brooklyn growing up in low income families. My students have chosen the fully remote platform for school this year. Many of the students come from local shelters and need extra LOVE CARE & SUPPORT at school. My students are creative, thoughtful innovative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Every child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, and my students are becoming enthusiastic learners.
In the classroom we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
To continue engaging my students in our new virtual classroom, I am requesting subscriptions to Scholastic News and DynaMath. These are magazines that will build my students knowledge, spark their curiosity and ignite a passion for their reading and learning.
My goal is to "Engage Every Student – Anytime, Anywhere and On Any Device" with Flexible Digital Resources.
Students will be able to access these digital resources at home on any device that they have available.
These magazines will help my students to connect to real life situations and be able to read about events in lives of students their age. Students can be encouraged to work harder to achieve their goals in life.
Scholastic News empowers students with the lifelong knowledge and skills they'll need to become informed, active citizens in a diverse world. With a subscription to DynaMath, students will exhibit stronger analytical-thinking skills, more mathematical confidence and a more positive attitude toward math.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these magazines will help my students grow to become stronger in reading!
