My students need books to read at school and at home. We are challenging ourselves to read at least 40 books this school year. Please help us reach our goal!

My Students
What can be more important than a life-long love of reading? I've always believed that helping my students develop a love of reading is the most important thing I can do. We just had a book fair at our school. Many students wanted to buy the hottest new "reads" but didn't have the money to buy.
My students are a fantastic and enthusiastic group of readers.
My language arts classes are mixed in ability but matched evenly in passion. Each of my five classes have embraced the rigorous challenge of reading 40 books in one year. However, not all of them are able to just walk in a bookstore and spend money on a novel. I wish that all students had the transportation and time to visit the public library but this is impossible for some students.
My Project
For me, the best part of my day is when a student bursts in looking for the next book in a new series they have just become hooked on. I really need to get copies of all the "hot" reads but many of the books are becoming very expensive. I simply cannot do it by myself. I really need help to entice those underdeveloped readers to find their first "favorite" book. Students take excellent care of our books but at times a much-loved paperback needs replaced. Having some new titles and copies would encourage my students to keep reading and learning. Reading well is a skill that will serves students for the rest of their lives. Some day, these children will read to their own children and so on. Please consider helping us.
When a student falls in love with a book, he or she is not just "reading" but experiencing the world through the author's mind.
What an amazing journey this is! Loving one great story leads to loving many others. This is what I am striving to do each day. Students picked each book on our list. These are the books they wanted but couldn't purchase on their own. These are the books we've researched, talked about, and are waiting for. Please help us experience the joy of reading!
