4-325 Is Going GREEN!

My students need a laminator in our classroom so we can stop wasting paper! A laminator allows us to copy and save activities so that students can reuse the materials time after time.

My Students

Our class is made up of 2 teachers, 3 paraprofessionals and 27 students in a 4th grade Integrated Co Teaching Class. We have general education students as well as special education students, so we have a wide range of performance levels in our classroom.

Our neighborhood is comprised of low income families, and many of our students live in public housing.

100% of our students receive free lunch and quite a few of our students are currently living in homeless shelters. Our small school is located in the neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York, and we are a Title I school. We are aware that many of our students are performing below grade level so we need a variety of resources to meet their needs.

My Project

Having a laminator allows us to laminate colored printed materials in the classroom such as library labels, name cards, pictures, anchor charts and signs making them sturdy so that they can be presentable and long lasting for the students to use and rely on!!

In addition, having a laminator will allow for our class to save paper!

We will be able to copy activities for our math and reading centers so that when students complete activities they can work independently and as groups to challenge their thinking.

The independence that is fostered as students begin to work independently in centers, allows for students to grow socially and academically.

Having a neat, organized and vibrant classroom allows for students to feel pride in their work!
