Our students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are our inspiration!
Our school is located in West Harlem (Title I district).
Our student population is diverse and includes Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian), Biracial, ENL (English as a New Language), an IEP (Individualized Education Program) students. Diversity within our school is something we embrace and nurture.
My Project
Finding new ways for students to connect to the learning can be hard in these times. I feel that have beautifully printed and crafty materials adds to the experience of learning and allows students to take pride in their work product. Having a cricut for the students to print their work and make it unique and fun can help increase engagement.
When my students return for the new school year, I want them to feel welcome and joyous with beautifully crafted materials that will incite learning.
I will also be able to print out materials using the cricut that I can display on my ELMO to help create presentable materials at charts for remote learning and hands on activities.
More than half of students from low‑income households
