My Project
If you've met a 3rd grader recently, you know they're always in motion! My students are always moving and grooving, and that includes when I am teaching. Many students are able to focus and do their best work this way: kicking their feet against an elastic band, playing with a fidget item in their hand, sitting on the floor with a lap desk, or wiggling around on a wobble cushion. Students learn what tools best support their learning, and develop the ability to articulate their needs in the classroom. It's amazing to watch students become advocates for their own learning!
This year, I want all of my students to discover for themselves what tools best support their learning.
In the past, I've been able to provide my students with a small number of lap desks, clipboards, and chair bands, but many students weren't able to experience these tools and explore what works best for them. Every student deserves the opportunity to better understand themselves as a learner!
