Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need a calm-down corner equipped with tools that help them manage emotions, reset, and return to learning with focus. Many of them experience stress, anxiety, or frustration during the school day, and having a safe, welcoming space to take a break can make all the difference.
This project will provide a bean bag chair for comfortable seating, calming lights to create a peaceful atmosphere, and visual aids for breathing exercises and mindfulness.
I’m also requesting sensory tools like stress balls, fidget items, and regulation cards to help students understand and cope with their feelings in healthy, constructive ways.
With your support, we can build a calm-down space that promotes emotional regulation, supports mental wellness, and empowers students to succeed—both in and out of the classroom.
