My Students

My classroom is filled with curious and diverse young learners who love to learn. My students are kind and love to collaborate and problem-solve as they engage in active learning activities.

Each day with my students brings new adventures and new experiences which we explore together.

It is my goal as a teacher to further extend the love of learning to my students so they are able to not only have successful academic careers, but achieve their own personal goals and dreams.

My Project

Students will read The Lemonade War and its sequel, The Lemonade Crime, during guided reading time as well as during book clubs. These reading selections will allow students to dive deep into the world of financial literacy as they become Chief Financial Officers who closely follow the characters and analyze their business decisions through content “rich” discussions.

Through this experience, students will develop a greater understanding about money and economic topics such as budgets, costs related to running a business, resources, wants vs needs, and supply and demand.

Finally, the vinyl sheets will provide my students with powerful visual aids and give them the opportunity to create posters, coins, and other reading response products related to concepts taught and discussed within the Lemonade War financial literacy unit.
