Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Art provides children with a creative outlet to express themselves, improve their problem-solving skills, and boost their confidence. The children in my class come from difficult home lives and providing them an outlet to express themselves is important. Art also helps with motor skills development and fosters imagination and critical thinking.
Moreover, I believe it would be beneficial to explore new tools and mediums to enhance our students' artistic experiences.
By introducing different techniques and materials, we can further stimulate their creativity and broaden their artistic horizons. My goals are to provide them with sharpies and markers so they can better create outlines for direct draws and have a different medium than crayons. With the art dry clay, my students will be creating animals in which they are studying. Many of my students have never used this medium before and I’m excited to introduce them into sculpting.
