Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students love to learn, they love to develop and apply new skills, and they are resilient. We are an urban, low-income district, and our families are mostly hardworking immigrant families, many of whom speak a language other than English at home.
3Doodler pens are one of our most popular design tools students choose in our Library Makerspace, and we need filament refills in order to keep designing and creating!
Students love using the 3Doodler Start pens to bring their ideas to life as 3D-printed models. They learn how to apply the design process of imagining, designing, creating, and revising to improve their techniques with this innovative new art tool. My students are learning how to express themselves creatively while learning 21st-century skills, applying creative thinking, and using technology in innovative ways to solve problems and bring their designs to life.
Our amazing elementary complex library serves 2000+ students in four schools, and as I continue to cultivate it into a 21st-century library media center and learning hub where students can collaborate and learn, it is important to provide students with opportunities to engage in hands-on discovery, invention, and understanding, as they apply learning and skills, address real-life problems with creative thinking, and use technology in innovative ways to solve problems.
