Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Despite some students having to face challenges at home, I have explained to my students that this is a safe heaven where they can come to learn and develop life saving skills and friendships. All students are encouraged to begin their day with a warm smile and a positive attitude before we get our day started. I greet each student with a fist bump and with a cheerful, "Good Morning!" If a student isn't ready to acknowledge me, he/she gets sent back to the line to reflect on the importance of coming in ready for a new adventure.
I teach at a Title One school in Las Vegas where one hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and supper.
Despite some challenges and hardships, my students are eager to begin their day to learn and try their best. They want to be recognized as individuals and that school is key to have an opportunity so that they can be the first to attend college and/or trade school and be prepared to a better future.
My Project
Being a child in a nation where students are worried about surviving in an environment that can no longer be consider safe is not always fun. With these 3Doodlers students will create figures to show their talents and set aside their worries as they learn and use their time to show their creativity.
I am a true believer that children need to have hands on activities and interests in order to see that possibilities are endless and available and can be creative if they set their mind to it.
This 3Doodler will create smiles, potential, and friendships with the opportunity to see school as an opportunity to graduate and pursuit higher interests as trade school, college, and any other higher education.
