My Project
My wonderful and diverse students in our STEAM program are ready to begin Engineering Challenge 3 which is designing, building, wiring, and coding self driving cars. We will be incorporating the Lunar New Year into our designs to allow students from all backgrounds to celebrate and learn about Southeast Asian Cultures. These 3D Printers will give my students the ability to learn Tinkercad 3D Modeling, engineering and design skills, while also learning how to build, maintain, and calibrate 3D printers.
My engineering students will build mini Teslas with sensors, self-driving capability, and electric power!
On top of this wonderful engineering project we will incorporate design and style elements that help celebrate the Lunar New Year. Many students in our Computer Science Program are from Southeast Asian background and this is a wonderful way to celebrate the beauty of their culture and expose other students to the diversity in the world around them.
As an urban school, many students come from disadvantaged backgrounds and the opportunity to work with the technology of the future is a great chance to get experiences they may not otherwise have.
