This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are growing up in an age where everything from movies to video games are available in 3D format. 3D printing allows learning in the classroom to also come to life in 3D. Students can recreate objects they are learning about in all subjects, increasing engagement and understanding.
My 3rd grade students love video games and technology.
They enjoy hands on learning and being creative. Some of my students are special needs and require visual supports and manipulatives to assist in learning. All my students have the desire to find out how the world around them works and enjoy creating new things.
My Project
Students will use our 3D printer to create math manipulates like shapes, fraction pieces and area models. Students will also be able to create maps and famous buildings etc. to help bring the past to life in Social Studies. For emotional development students will create miniature versions of themselves in the style of Minecraft to go with our class Minecraft theme.
This project will make a different in my students lives by providing them a chance to actively create what they are learning about.
Students will see abstract and unfamiliar concepts come to life, increasing engagement and a desire to learn.
