3D Printing for Engineering and Inquiry

Help me give my students the opportunity to 3D print for science projects and engineering.

My Project

A 3D printer will empower my students to bring their science and engineering ideas to life through hands-on inquiry and problem-solving. With this technology, they can design and prototype solutions for real-world challenges, whether it’s testing aerodynamics with custom-built vehicles, engineering structures to explore force and motion, or creating models for environmental projects like our native garden. The specific items I’m requesting—filament, design software, and a high-quality 3D printer—will allow them to experiment, iterate, and refine their ideas in a way that traditional materials cannot.

Our school does not have the budget to provide these expensive technologies, yet they are essential for preparing students for futures in STEM careers.

My goal is to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, giving students access to the tools they need to become the problem-solvers of the future. What makes my students special is their curiosity and determination; they thrive when given the opportunity to explore and create. With a 3D printer, they can turn their ideas into reality and deepen their understanding of science and engineering in a meaningful way.
