This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As an urban, public school educator, my students are faced with many different challenges that affect their learning. Despite the challenges that my students face, my goal as an educator is to make the classroom a positive, rich, and meaningful place that they enjoy visiting every day. My students are faced with social and emotional challenges that have affected their learning. I am able to create an environment that will allow my students to thrive without the essentials that their parents do not provide.
My Project
It is important to teach financial literacy to our students as early as possible. Students need hands-on experience to understand the importance of being an entrepreneur. Students can create a product with a 3D printer and sell it for a profit to their peers. Students will be able to understand the concepts of profit, margin, and marketing. The students will be exposed to part of technology that they might want to explore as a career or further explore in high school. I want to be able to teach financial literacy and provide relevant and meaningful learning experiences for the students.
