My students need the 3D printer in order to foster creativity, critical thinking skills, and collaboration in order to further strengthen their mathematical skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Energetic, innovative, and bold are some of the few words that describe my students in my fifth grade classroom. Everyday, they strive to think critically, creatively, and work collaboratively.
Malcolm X once stated, "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today" Living in a world that's so technologically saturated, it's imperative that we help our future engineers, scientists, and mathematicians in my classroom further develop their skills in order to be successful for tomorrow.
My Project
The 3D printer will further propel students to look at math and literacy in a creative manner.
Students will create objects that reinforce their literacy skills, apply their knowledge of mathematics, and strengthen their knowledge of technology.
With this 3D Printer, students will be able to let their creative side flourish and provide them with an opportunity to collaborate with their peers while doing so. This also exposes students to the judicious, creative use of technology in a school setting. The intention behind this project is to increase their [student] engagement, so they develop a positive outlook on school content.
