Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of third graders. They come to school ready and eager to learn; however, we are Title I school and have a high population of low income families, some of them are living at or near the poverty level. Because our families are on very limited budgets, some students don't have a backpack to hold their school supplies, yet our families love and care very much for their children and want the best education for them. Our students deserve to have every opportunity to be academically successful.
My Project
My third graders need updated technological tools like a 3D printer. My 21st century students will be able to create and design models and prototypes that will help them with critical thinking, engineering and math.
They need to be able to grow academically in a technology world.
They will enhance their ability to use geometry to create objects using the aide of an app. They will be able to collaborate with their classmates as they work together to complete their projects. They need the opportunity to use a 3D printer to compete with other students around the world as well as be prepared to work in a global world.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
