3D Printer for a Rural Chemistry Classroom

Help me give my students a ELEGOO Neptune 4 Plus 3D Printer and HATCHBOX Filament. This 3D printer and filament will allow students to create models and manipulatives they can use to foster deeper learning.

My Project

The 3D printer and filament will make a significant difference in student learning. Student's often request the desire for more hands-on activities so that they can translate abstract chemistry concepts into tangible models.

Models can be created using the 3D printer and filament to increase student comprehension, promote engagement, encourage problem-solving skills, and prepare students for real-world applications in STEM fields.

Hands-on models and visual representations of chemical concepts can help increase student engagement and comprehension. With the ability to create 3D models students will get to experience a deeper exploration of the concepts explored in class. The ability to tinker with a 3D printer and design their own models will give students a chance to apply their knowledge and express themselves in a creative way. Experience with 3D printers and their software will also help students be better prepared in taking the next step into STEM programs and careers.

Overall, this project aims to enrich the students learning experience, empower students to take ownership of their own learning, and equip them with the skills and knowledge to be successful in the 21st-cetury workforce. My students are deserving of this project as they come from a rural school and have limited access to resources. While all students are deserving of a hands-on experience in my experience rural students struggle to grasp concepts without some sort of tangible experience. This project aims to bring STEM skills to areas that are notoriously lacking in them. It aims to bridge the opportunity gap that often exists for rural students.
