Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has a diverse population of approximately 1,100 students and is located in a low-income community. The school is organized into three academies: early childhood, elementary, and middle school.

Our students are eager to learn and have shown great interest in the hands-on learning that STEAM offers to them.

This will help grow our program and challenge them.

My Project

Our school is in the process of growing our new STEAM program. I want to give our students a variety of hands-on opportunities to learn that many of them have never experienced before.

We have a school that houses Pre-K through 8th grade and my hope is to eventually have every grade experience the process of designing and bringing their design to life.

Our first project for the use of our 3D printer will be to make straps and necklaces to use with the student masks to stop them from falling off. Our STEAM program is just beginning and this would be a fabulous addition.
