My Students
My students are a diverse group of learners. There are families from different socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as ethnic backgrounds. Some children have computers at home, while others do not. Some children are ESL, and may not have parents at home that speak English. Education is important for all children, and technological experience, as well as engaging activities, are very important to their lifelong learning skills. As their teacher I want to provide a positive, safe, classroom that is filled with opportunities.
My Project
Can you imagine my students creating houses, pyramids, or a space camp on a 3D printer? These are just a few of the 3D print outs that students have designed and researched. Students learned geometry while designing and building their dream home. At the beginning of the year students ask I wonder questions about the 3D printer. Then they learn about how the 3D printer is used in so many ways.
The students are given opportunities to explore, build, and create which will allow for the critical thinking needed for their future learning.
Students will gain confidence through building and creating.
