This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our middle school is a Title I school with over 80% of its students having free or reduced-price lunch. I am one of the AVID elective teachers.
AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
AVID aims at bringing the student who is in the academic middle, placing them in rigorous, college-preparatory classes, and teaching them the skills they will need to be successful in college and in their future careers.
My Project
In the AVID classroom, team building and collaboration are a must. Our curriculum is built on an acronym called WICOR which stands for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading.
3D Doodlers have the ability to take our team building through collaboration to a whole new level.
3D Doodlers would allow students to complete all kinds of challenges in the classroom to help enhance their communication and problem solving skills. This 3D Doodling bundle comes with project books so that students would have "go to" projects challenges to complete.
In addition to team building, these 3D Doodlers can aid my struggling students through the use of tactile learning. In AVID, we have small group, student-centered tutorials each week. In these tutorials, students who struggle to learn concepts taught in class would be able to touch and feel the results of completing problems through the use of a 3D Doodler.
