My Students

I will be teaching a class of multicultural 4th graders that are a mixture of ELD, Special Needs, and Gifted students. They are eager students who are ready to learn and trying their best.

Almost a third of our students come from low-income families that cannot provide them with the resources they need to help give their child the best education possible.

These students are the ones on the free/reduced-price lunch list.

With the diverse students in my class, I always find myself modifying everything I teach.

My Project

Next year I will be teaching a group of 4th graders. Today I found out that I will have 36-38 children in my classroom for the 2017-18 year. I currently have 32 students and hardly have room to store our backpacks and personal belonging and next year there will be more bodies in my class.

Where are we going to fit everyone and everything???

My solution to the problem is to place hooks outside of my classroom so that the kids can leave their backpacks outside. But what about the things they constantly need, such as their notebooks, binders, planners and such? My solution is to have chair pockets. I am asking for thirty-eight storage chair pockets. My children can store their personal belonging in them and avoid using up their minimal table space. This will alleviate the chances of their belonging ending up on my floor.

So please consider helping us out. You would definitely help my job next year run a bit more smoother.
